Bothan Lowland

Bothan Lowland
This chunky bottle holds an interesting flavor profile , let’s check it out. The Lowland style single malt is aged in ex-bourbon barrels using a slow process, bottled by Alexander Murray at a mystery distillery. The 86 proof amber malt is gently earthy and sweet on the nose with a fruit forward bias. I enjoyed the mellow mouthfeel but found a distinct lack of complexity. This is a drinkable but unremarkable dram. It’s not that all lowland whiskies are lacking character, i.e. Auchentoshan is a great one…..The region is generally floral and un-peated and Bothan follows that formula to a T. This might be a candidate for the mixologists among us or an “on the rocks” pour. Nothing special here to report but pleasant enough if light and soft is your thing. Rated a 6.5 on the charts.
